CrowdStrike Reveals New Tools for Falcon Cloud Security

CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike has introduced important upgrades to its Falcon® Identity Protection, including features like Falcon Privileged Access and real-time threat protection for Microsoft Entra ID, further strengthening its cyber security capabilities. These enhancements aim to prevent cross-domain attacks that use stolen credentials to break into cloud environments and move across devices, all managed through one workflow.

Over the past year, cases of cloud exploitation have risen by 110%, and identity-based attacks are on the rise, with 75% of initial access attacks being malware-free. Hackers increasingly target AI services and large language models (LLMs) in the cloud. Security teams need a modern Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) that offers visibility and real-time protection against various attack paths to effectively defend against these sophisticated threats and safely harness AI technology. Falcon Cloud Security is the only platform that protects all aspects of the modern cloud, including infrastructure, applications, data, and AI models, through a single unified console and workflow. This makes it a vital solution for organizations focused on cloud security and secure cloud storage.

“As more organizations adopt hybrid cloud and AI strategies to drive growth, they also create more complexity and vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit, increasing risks of compromise,” said Michael Sentonas, president of CrowdStrike. “With the latest updates to Falcon Cloud Security and Falcon Identity Protection, we’re simplifying security and closing important gaps with real-time visibility and protection across hybrid cloud environments, applications, data, AI models, an’d identities. The best way to secure every attack path is to unify workflows in a single console that prevents breaches across the entire cloud estate, enhancing overall cyber security and cloud computing security.”

The new features in Falcon Cloud Security and Falcon Identity Protection include:

AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM): This new capability monitors AI services and LLMs in the cloud, detects misconfigurations, and finds vulnerabilities to ensure secure AI innovation.

Data Security Posture Management: Now fully integrated with Falcon Cloud Security, this feature allows security teams to discover, classify, and protect data in all states—whether it’s at rest or in motion—as it flows through the cloud and across devices, enhancing secure cloud storage practices.

Falcon Privileged Access: This feature enforces a least-privilege approach with risk-based Just-in-Time (JIT) access in hybrid cloud environments, reducing the identity attack surface and preventing cross-domain attacks that span clouds, identities, and devices.

Real-Time Threat Protection for Microsoft Entra ID: This feature provides AI-powered identity protection against threats like password spraying and phishing targeting Entra ID (cloud-based Active Directory) environments, reinforcing cloud security measures.
