Editorial standards

These are the rules every IT Business Digest story follows.

Sources

Every story starts from a primary source: the company's own announcement, a security advisory, a regulatory filing or published research. We confirm key facts in at least one more independent source before publishing. Each story links the sources it relies on, so you can check them yourself.

When a claim comes from a single source, the story says where it came from. When a company declines to comment or leaves something out, we say that too.

Approval

Every story is approved by the editor before it is published.

Original work

We write our own stories from the facts. We don't copy or lightly reword other publications' articles. Quotes are short, attributed and linked.

Stories about wrongdoing

A story that accuses a named company or person of wrongdoing needs two independent sources or an official statement before we publish it.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it the same day and add a note at the end of the story saying what changed and when. To report an error, email Connect@itbusinessdigest.com with the story link.

Sponsored content

Sponsors never see or approve news stories before publication. Paid content is labelled "Sponsored" at the top of the page, names the sponsor, and is kept out of the news sections. Sponsors can't buy coverage in our news stories.

Bylines

Bylines on this site are pen names used by the IT Business Digest desk.

Images

Images come from company press kits, credited in the caption, or are graphics we make ourselves.
