ServiceNow announced AI Workflow Factory at its World Forum event in Mumbai on October 6. It is a bundle of existing and new ServiceNow products arranged as a loop: find a process worth changing, build the change, run it, and govern the AI involved at each step.

AI Workflow Factory is generally available worldwide now. Autonomous Engineer, a new coding agent, is in early access on request.

What is in the loop

Step ServiceNow product
Find what to change Process Mining, tied to the KPIs business units already track
Build the change Autonomous Engineer and Build Agent
Run it at scale App Engine
Govern AI throughout AI Control Tower
Reach outside ServiceNow Action Fabric, which connects third-party AI agents and tools

Autonomous Engineer plans, writes and tests implementation work without someone watching each step. ServiceNow says developers keep control of the critical decisions.

"Teams can move from idea to impact continuously, with control and governance built into every step," said Amit Zavery, ServiceNow's president, chief operating officer and chief product officer.

What was not announced

ServiceNow did not publish pricing, and the release names no customers. Accenture and Infosys were quoted as partners. For existing customers, the practical questions are which of these products are already licensed and how Autonomous Engineer will be priced once it leaves early access.

Where this fits

Process mining, App Engine and AI Control Tower already exist. The new part is the unattended coding agent and the packaging that tells customers to treat workflow improvement as a constant cycle. It puts ServiceNow head to head with SAP, which announced its own agents and agent inventory the same day, and with Salesforce.

What IT teams should do

  1. Check which parts of AI Workflow Factory you already license, and get pricing for the rest before teams start building on it.
  2. If your ServiceNow developers are stretched, request early access to Autonomous Engineer and test it on low-risk changes first.
  3. Decide who reviews and approves code written by the agent before it reaches production, and record that in your change process.
